Superstar Spectacle 2021: A Meaningful Indian Showcase With Modest Wrestling

Bálor and Guru Raaj open the special with a straightforward showcase match designed to introduce Raaj without asking him to carry more than he is ready for. Bálor controls the structure, slowing the pace whenever the match needs direction and giving Raaj enough space to show athleticism through the senton, kip-up, kicks and top-rope crossbody. The challenger never feels close to a major upset, but that is not really the point. Bálor finishes with the corner dropkick, Coup de Grâce and 1916, then offers a respectful handshake afterward. As an introduction it is useful; as a competitive match it stays firmly in solid midcard territory.

The eight-man tag is built to hide inexperience and maximize spectacle, which is a sensible choice for Dilsher Shanky and Giant Zanjeer. Mysterio and Ricochet handle much of the movement, while the veteran heel team provides structure and timing around the newer wrestlers. Zanjeer and Shanky are presented through size and simple power spots rather than complex sequences, and the closing stretch turns into the expected multi-man breakdown. The finish, with Mysterio launching from Shanky's shoulders onto Cesaro, gives the Indian prospects a memorable visual without forcing them into an overly complicated ending. It is fun, basic and intentionally protective.

Styles versus Jeet Rama is the best pure showcase match on the event because Rama gets enough time and offense to look like a wrestler rather than a guest attraction. His amateur and kushti background comes through in the throws, grip fighting and suplexes, while Styles provides the pacing and positioning that keep those ideas connected. Rama surviving and countering the Calf Crusher gives him one of the night's strongest credibility moments. The finish protects Styles' status while still giving Rama a plausible opening, as Omos holds Styles in place during a corner exchange before Styles recovers and lands the Phenomenal Forearm. It is modest but coherent and probably the event's most complete match.

The women's tag has a clear developmental purpose but struggles to become a compelling match on its own. Charlotte Flair and Natalya handle the early exchanges before Sareena Sandhu receives the extended spotlight, allowing Bayley and Natalya to work around her in a simple isolation segment. Sandhu shows enough timing and athletic ability to avoid looking overwhelmed, but the match remains visibly constructed around keeping the newest performer inside a narrow comfort zone. Charlotte eventually breaks the Sharpshooter with Natural Selection, allowing Sandhu to crawl over Natalya for the pin. The result gives Sandhu the showcase victory, though the wrestling itself never rises beyond basic television-tag execution.

The main event is less about suspense than about creating a celebratory closing image around WWE's Indian talent. McIntyre and Jinder Mahal provide the recognizable main-roster framework, while Rinku and Saurav receive the majority of the meaningful showcase time against the Bollywood Boyz. The match is deliberately simple, built around power offense, isolation and a final hot-tag sequence rather than complex near-falls. McIntyre eventually neutralizes Mahal with the Claymore while Indus Sher hit their double-team finish on Sunil Singh for the pin. The post-match celebration with the Indian wrestlers and Triple H matters more than competitive drama, but the match does its promotional job cleanly.
