Francine's interest in Richards again irritates Beulah and gives the segment value beyond the result. D+ reflects the limited wrestling content: the outcome is never in doubt, there is little competitive structure, and the match exists primarily to display the Pitbulls' strength. As a story segment it is useful because Raven's Nest feels increasingly layered, but viewers do not need the bell-to-bell action to understand that development.

2 Cold Scorpio versus Hack Meyers is a compact singles match built to keep Scorpio strong one night before Hardcore Heaven. Meyers has enough crowd support to make the contest feel less disposable than a pure enhancement squash, but Scorpio remains the clear athletic superior. The match works best when Scorpio creates separation and accelerates, while Meyers' offense is most effective when he can turn the bout rougher and simpler. The 450 splash is the correct finish because it gives the audience a recognizable payoff and sends Scorpio into the next night's Taz program with momentum. C+ rewards clean execution, useful pacing, and a decisive result without exaggerating the match's importance. There is little deeper story between the two men, so the bout functions mainly as preparation for what Scorpio does later in the evening and what ECW intends to present at Hardcore Heaven.

Chad Austin versus Taz is barely a conventional match because the story is Bill Alfonso's officiating and Scorpio's post-match attack. Mikey Whipwreck cannot compete because of a separated shoulder, so Austin substitutes and immediately sucker punches Taz before the bell. Taz retaliates with a Taz-plex, only for Alfonso to disqualify him for striking an opponent before the match officially begins. The ruling is intentionally infuriating and continues Alfonso's role as an authority figure who uses technical rules to punish ECW's most popular wrestlers. Scorpio then attacks Taz, delivering the tombstone and somersault leg drop that injure his neck before Hardcore Heaven. C- reflects almost nonexistent competitive wrestling but important storyline progression. The segment is worth watching because it creates direct consequences for the following night's card, not because Austin and Taz produce a substantive singles match.

Axl Rotten versus Ian Rotten returns to the barbed-wire baseball-bat stipulation yet again, which makes the match feel more like another chapter than a fresh escalation. The brothers still commit fully to the violence, and the weapon gives them an immediate visual shorthand for hatred, but the rivalry has already explored chairs, straps, scissors, and multiple barbed-wire variations. Axl's leg drop using the bat produces a decisive finish and keeps the result from becoming another inconclusive brawl. C rewards effort, continuity, and a clear winner while acknowledging severe diminishing returns. The match does not fail at what it is trying to do; it simply cannot recreate the novelty of earlier encounters because viewers already know the rhythm. This is useful for anyone following the full Rotten brothers feud, but it is not an essential standalone match from Mountain Top Madness.

Raven and Stevie Richards against Public Enemy is the most important match on Mountain Top Madness because the ECW World Tag Team Championship changes hands and several rivalries intersect at once. Raven and Richards are not the more established tag team, so the Gangstas' interference provides a believable path to the upset. Rocco Rock is struck with the pipe, an unconscious Richards is dragged onto him, and the pin gives Raven's Nest championship gold. When another referee attempts to reverse the decision, Bill Alfonso overrules the reversal and allows the title change to stand. That keeps Alfonso central while deepening Public Enemy's issue with the Gangstas. B- rewards storyline density, championship significance, crowd interest, and a result with immediate consequences. The match is more important historically than technically, but the title change is strong enough to make it one of the show's essential segments.

Sandman versus Tommy Dreamer closes Mountain Top Madness with a world-title match built around a specific injury rather than random interference. Raven and Stevie Richards attack Dreamer before he reaches the ring and damage his hand, immediately giving Sandman and Woman a target. Dreamer still fights through enough offense to make the challenge credible, but the injured hand repeatedly limits him and prevents the match from becoming a clean test of ability. Woman distracts him at the key moment, Sandman strikes the hand with the Singapore cane, and the small package secures the retention. B- rewards title stakes, storyline continuity, and a finish that logically uses damage established before the bell. The match is not a technical classic, but it links Raven-Dreamer directly to Sandman's championship reign and gives the small road-show audience a meaningful main event rather than a disconnected exhibition.
